First issued in 1986, the 1 oz Gold American Eagle contains one troy ounce of fine gold in a durable 22-karat alloy. The obverse features Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ Liberty design. Type 1 coins carry the family-of-eagles reverse, while Type 2 coins issued since 2021 feature Jennie Norris’ close-up portrait of an eagle.
Coins are offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and may show light contact marks or small surface abrasions from normal handling and storage.
